AICP: Anthropological Integrative Cognitive Psychometrics
The ICA textbook: the model behind the assessment, how it is scored, how to judge any assessment, and how to use one responsibly. A PDF, $296.
What you get
- The four dimensions and three faculties of the ICA model, and where they sit in research on cognitive style
- How the 40 situations become scores: forced-choice answers, ipsative scores and the Orientation Strength Index
- The 24 profiles, and why each is an ordering rather than a type
- Reliability, validity and the published test standards, and how to apply them to any assessment
- Appropriate use, including safeguards when an assessment is one input to a decision
- The ICA research program: the protocol, the claims ledger and how claims change status
Who it is for
Practitioners, researchers, educators and the people who choose assessments for an organization, who want to understand the ICA well enough to use it, question it or explain it.
How it fits the path
Read it before you train. The textbook explains the reasoning; ICA Certification trains and examines practitioners; the Practitioner License and the Institutional License cover professional use. The textbook is not a certification and does not license anyone to use the ICA with clients.
Price and limit
- $296, one payment, as a PDF.
- At most 3,000 a year. The limit reflects what we can support well; we do not run countdowns.
- Prices rise 10% each year. A price you have paid stays fixed for the period you paid for; the increase applies from your next renewal, and we tell you before it does.
What it is not
The ICA is a self-report behavioral-preference assessment, and its accuracy is currently being studied. It is not a clinical, medical or diagnostic test, does not measure intelligence or cognitive ability, and does not screen for any condition.
Questions
What format is the textbook?
A PDF.
Do I need the textbook to take ICA Certification?
No. It explains why the model and its safeguards are built as they are, which makes the certification training easier to follow.
