About ANTHRL

ANTHRL, Anthropological Research Labs, studies the recurring ways people perceive, decide and act, and builds measurement tools for them. Our first instrument is the ICA, published by ICAPsychometrics, a business of ANTHRL.

What we study

People have named the roles they see in one another for as long as there are records: readers of signs, makers of tools, keepers of the peace, those who act first. We treat these patterns as hypotheses rather than truths. The ICA turns one version of them into four measurable dimensions grouped into three faculties, Thinking, Feeling and Willing, and our research program tests whether that structure holds.

Why "anthropological"

Anthropology studies people across cultures and history. Our starting material is the same: the long, cross-cultural habit of describing people by the roles they play. The history of personality types traces that habit from the four temperaments to modern trait research, and the cognitive-style literature shows the scientific questions it leaves open. We use those questions to decide what to measure and how carefully.

How we work

  • Scoring is published. How ICA answers become scores is public, so results can be checked.
  • Claims carry a status. The claims ledger marks each claim as a design fact, under study, inspiration or not claimed.
  • The instrument is versioned. The current version is ICA 1.1; changes are logged in the changelog.
  • Limits are stated. See appropriate use: the ICA is one input, never the sole basis for a consequential decision.
  • No invented proof. We publish no testimonials, ratings or figures we cannot show.
  • Prices are public. Every price, limit and renewal rule is on the pricing page.
